MAT WILLIAMSON BRINGS HIS GAME TO THE LAND OF LEGENDS RACEWAY PARK IN 2024

Mat Williamson has recently announced he’ll be a weekly performer in the Land of Legends Raceway’s Pepsi big block Modifieds. Mat brings an impressive resume as he’ll  attempt to win his first ever big block Modified championship at the Land of Legends Raceway in 2024.

Elsewhere, Mat has won three Billy Whittaker Cars 200 championships at Oswego Speedway. He’s also won one of 358 Modified championships at Oswego. The win in the 358 Championship event came in 2023 on the same day as one of his Billy Whittaker 200 wins.  That put Mat in some pretty reputable company, joining Stewart Friesen, Billy Decker, Brett Hearn, Merv Triechler and Buzzie Reutiman as the only other drivers to do so.  In addition to that he won three consecutive Ransomville Speedway 358 Modified championships starting in 2021. Mat has finished second in Super DIRTcar big block Modified points, the last four years. Mat is also the 2019 DIRTcar 358 Modified champion. The 34 year old St. Catherines, ONT superstar, recently won his second consecutive Volusia Speedway Speedweeks big block Modified championship.

Mat is also a three time Lernerville (PA) Speedway Modified champion.

“Land of Legends Raceway has a very competitive Modified field and I hope that it helps me to get that first DIRTcar big block Modified championship. There will never be an easy win here,” said Mat of Land of Legends Pepsi Modified program.

Mat will drive his self owned #6w at Land of Legends Raceway Park, Mat drives the Buzz Chew owned big block Modified on the Super DIRTcar big block Modified Series, which will make two apperances at Land of Legends in 2024. Mat has never won a feature event at the Land of Legends. Sponsoring his effort here will be S & W Service Center and Marin Drywall.

Mat took another big step during the current off season, getting married to his long time girlfriend, Natalie. Mat’s father is Randy Williamson, co-owner of Bicknell Racing Products.
