MOVING UP TO THE BIG BLOCK MODIFIEDS IN 2023

The Land of Legends Pepsi big block Modified class is one of best in the northeastern short track racing theater. The class has a good mix of longtime veterans and youth. Dalton Martin of Scottsville, NY has recently announced that he’ll move into the Pepsi big block Modifieds for the 2023 season after spending the past four seasons in the Auto Value Sportsman class. 

Dalton picked up his first career feature Auto Value Sportsman victory at Land of Legends Raceway Park in the 2022 season and also had nine top ten finishes and five top five finishes in 17 starts. Martin has finished top ten in points finishes in the last three seasons. He also has a Sportsman victory at Freedom (NY) Speedway.

“We were talking about moving up during last season,” said Martin, a 32-year-old manager of a collision shop. “Our goal in 2023 is to oversee everything and learn.”

Dalton’s family racing background is on the asphalt. His dad, Eric ran Cup Lites at Holland Speedway and Oswego Speedway. He also ran DIRTcar Sportsman. His uncle Rob White was a regular at Spencer Speedway.

Dalton’s sponsors for the 2023 season are DeGeorge Properties, Gerber Collision & Glass, Nashville’s and MHL Performance.

Helping out on the race team is Bob Smith, Curran Brown, Eric Martin, Josh Dyer, Rob White, Greg Marchione and Chuck Martin. His wife, Shannon, is also behind Dalton and his upcoming Pepsi big block Modified season. His daughter Kyla and son Korban  enjoy watching dad race on the fast half mile Land of Legends Raceway Park.
